I’m James, and I’ll be running Pop Connect across Cambridge, Saffron Walden and the wider region.
I’ve spent 30 years in sales and marketing, working with businesses of all shapes and sizes. I now run The Marketing Reset, helping small business owners get clearer on their message, their marketing and how they attract more of the right customers.

A few things people usually ask
Can I try before joining?
Yes. Your first step is a guest visit. It’s £25 + vat, lunch is included, and you’ll get a proper feel for the group before deciding whether to join.
Do I have to bring referrals?
No. Pop works on trust, not quotas. The aim is to build proper relationships so referrals happen naturally and are better quality when they do.
What if I don't like traditional networking?
That is usually a good sign you may prefer Pop. The format is relaxed, friendly and built around real conversations rather than hard selling or collecting business cards.
Will there be competitors in the room?
Each group is category-protected, so there is one seat per business type. That gives you a clear place in the room and helps members know when to recommend you.
What if I can’t make every meeting?
Life happens, and Pop is built for real business owners. If you can't make a meeting, you can arrange a sub to take your place so your business stays in the room. You can also visit or sub in at other Pop groups so you stay connected even when your own meeting clashes with work or family.
How quickly will I get business from it?
Pop is not instant-leads networking. It is relationship-led. Some opportunities can happen quickly, but the real value builds as people understand what you do, trust you, and feel confident putting your name forward.
